Highfield Level 3 International Award in Emergency First Aid and Use of an AED with CPR for all Ages

Course Content:

This course will equip learners with the skills and certainty to move assertively and become a vigilant parent or nanny in identifying a child or toddler in distress and how to do effective CPR, operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during cardiac arrest, and how to deal with a choking child. The course is explicitly designed for newborns and children up to 5 years of age.

Course duration:

This international qualification would be typically delivered and can be completed to learners through a 1-day training course (6 hours).

Training modules

  • Responsibilities of the Pediatric first aider

  • Assessing an emergency safely

  • Unresponsive and breathing normally

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

  • Head, neck, and back injuries

  • External bleeding

  • Shock

  • Anaphylaxis

What will you do during your practical evaluation?

  • Assessment of a responsive and unresponsive patient

  • Complete 2 min of CPR on an Adult, Child & Infant

  • Operate the AED as a lone responder

  • Assist an Adult, Child & infant chocking

  • Manage bleeding control

  • Place a patient in the recovery position

  • Secure a patient having seizures

  • Recap questions on the online theoretical part

  • Learners are required to demonstrate their understanding of the acquired from the class session.

Certification:

  • 3 Year certification validity

  • Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) accredited

  • In line with the latest resuscitation guidelines
